Started in 1979, Fire-Stop Systems (FSS) has been developing,
testing, manufacturing and installing its own
F.M., U.L.C. and U.L. approved fire stop materials with
an undying commitment to quality and customer service.
When the corporate structure was developed, it was determined
that FSS should walk a path quite different from other
manufacturers of fire stopping products. Instead of
selling through master distributorships, which in turn
often sell through sub-distributors (such as electrical
wholesale) before the product makes its way to
the contractor responsible for installation, FSS decided
to form a company that would bypass all of the middlemen,
thus serving the end user with a single and direct source
of product sales and installation.
Passive
fire protection requires more than good products; it
requires properly installed good products. At FSS, we
know that proper installation is essential to the reliable
performance of any fire stop. To this end, FSS has chosen
to offer single source turn-key installations to the
paper, power, mining and steel industries. FSS has literally
pioneered a system for achieving flawless A to
Z service which starts with a plant visit where
a detailed, room by room, opening by opening, take-off
of the workscope is made to insure accuracy of the project
and concludes with the final project completion walk
through with the client to obtain approval and acceptance
before invoicing is begun. And because the client deals
directly with the factory, FSS can typically bid work
in other parts of the world as economically as it can
in the United States. This has been proven by our project
acquisitions in countries such as Canada, Israel, Chile,
Brazil, Costa Rica, U.A.E. and others.
With
hundreds of major industrial projects completed in North
America alone, FSS has achieved a repeat clientele among
industry leaders such as U.S. Steel, International Paper
Corp., Ontario Hydro and many other companies of equal
stature. Whether it is developing specifications with
engineering companies like Hyundai, Davy-Dravo, Black
& Veatch or H.A. Simons, or working with loss control
personnel with firms like I.R.I. or Marsh & McClennan,
FSS is constantly involving itself with industry leaders
to get the job done right.
